Paris fashion: Vivienne Westwood's "Innocent"

A model presents a creation by British designer Vivienne Westwood during
the Autumn/Winter 2006-07 ready-to-wear collections in Paris, 28 February
2006.

PARIS - Prettily puffed, squared-off or overly slopey, shoulders seem to
be getting plenty of play for next winter. At Vivienne Westwood,
shoulders were built-up or pointed outwards, providing a theme to the
energetic collection.
The British designer, once the doyenne of the British punk scene and now
Dame Vivienne Westwood after her recent recognition for "services to
fashion", made the shoulders on a navy blue coat so pointy they stood off
the body.
Bustles were also built under either side of big skirts and models were
swathed in fabric for more elaborate creations, but edgy knitwear,
slouchy coats, leggings and suits were more for everyday. Form-fitting
jackets with cinched waists were a highlight.
After last season's "Active Resistance to Propaganda" theme, the designer
entitled this collection "Innocent", highlighting the case of Leonard
Peltier, a Native American, convicted in 1977 for the killings of two FBI
agents.
