The famous actor Tan Xinpei performs Beijing Opera "The Battle of
Dingjunshan," the first Chinese movie made in 1905, to commemorate the
country's centennial film industry, during the opening ceremony of the
14th Chinese Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival in coastal
city Sanya, south China's Hainan province on Nov. 9, 2005. The China's
top film gala slated for Nov. 9-12 is said to feature "noble, elegant and
sublime" styles of art and culture, with attendance of several hundred
movie stars from home and abroad and 21 foreign classic films to be shown.
