Chinanews, Oct 13 (By Zhao Jianhua) - China's Vice-Minister of
Information Industry Jiang Yaoping indicated in Beijing today that China
has basically prepared itself to develop a 3G mobile communication
market. The government will release relevant policies and advice at an
appropriate time to create a favorable environment for 3G development.
China Putian and Nokia signed an agreement here today to establish a
joint venture which will be responsible for research, development,
manufacturing and sale aiming at 3G mobile communication network
products. Jiang made the above comments at the signing ceremony.
China Putian and Nokia have cooperated for more than 10 years. They will
hold 51% and 49% of the new joint venture's stakes respectively. The
commercial products will use Putian's brand and will be launched into the
market next year.
Putian's industrial scale and strength ranked in the front row on
mainland China. Nokia is a globally renowned mobile communication
manufacturer and the largest export-oriented mobile communication
enterprise in China. It has set up 6 research and development centers and
4 manufacturing bases in China.
