Shihezi Economic and Technological Development Zone

Shihezi Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as
state-level deveopment zone in April 2000. The zone has  a developed area
of 5.3 square kilometers.

Geographical Location
Shihezi Economic & Technological Development Zone (SETDZ) is located in
the central area of the northern slope of the Mountain Tianshan, the
Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and is the State-level development zone
in the west China. Also it is the only State-level development area
designated to be oriented towards the countries along the Eurasian
Continental Bridge.

Industrial Structure
Now many pillar major industries have taken shape in the Zone, consisting
of food processing, beverage production, plastics and chemicals,
textiles, water-saving devices, feedstuff, specialized fertilizers, and
building materials industry.

Investment Priorities
The SETDZ gives priorities to the development of new technologies, new
processes, and new materials related to agricultural and husbandry
production, and high-tech, high-value-added and high-return techniques
and processes for processing farm products and byproducts. The
infrastructure, fundamental industries and services of concerned
industries will also be developed.
